Mr. Shaw's practice is concentrated in civil litigation with emphasis in hospital liability, professional negligence claims and alternative dispute resolution.

He frequently speaks about developments and trends in health care law and medical liability issues. Mr. Shaw is a member of various professional organizations. He has been selected as an investigator/arbitrator for the State of Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission and has been active in local and state bar associations.

Mr. Shaw was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America ® in the area of Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants for 2020 and the prior 10 years. Mr. Shaw was named to DBusiness Magazine’s 2015 list of Top Lawyers, which is based on a peer- review survey of Metro area lawyers and was named a Michigan Super Lawyer ® in the practice area of Personal Injury Defense: Medical Malpractice in 2019. In addition, Mr. Shaw has been recognized in the publications, Detroit’s Best Lawyers and Leading Lawyers.

Mr. Shaw’s community service has included appointments to the Berkley Community Diversity Council, the Huntington Woods Planning Commission and the Huntington Woods Ethics Board.
