Daniel R. Corbet graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Northern Michigan University in 1981. He received his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University in 1984, and he was admitted to the bar in the State of Michigan and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, in 1985 and to the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1994. Mr. Corbet is a founding partner of Corbet, Shaw, Essad & Bonasso.

Mr. Corbet was selected for inclusion in the 2020 edition of The Best Lawyers in America ® in the practice area of Mass Tort Litigation Class Actions – Defendants. He was named a Michigan Super Lawyer ® in the practice area of Personal Injury Defense: Medical Malpractice from 2012 to 2019.

Mr. Corbet's practice centers on medical negligence, commercial litigation and contractual relations. He has conducted numerous seminars and presentations including "Legal Issues in Pediatric Patients," "Seminar on Pediatric Head Injury Cases," "Legal Aspects for Nurses – Pediatric Emergency Room," "Legal Aspects of Trauma Care" and "Risk Management Issues for Physicians."
