Marie C. Kennedy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Language & International Trade from Eastern Michigan University. She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law. Ms. Kennedy is admitted to practice in Michigan and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan.  

With nearly 30 years of experience, Ms. Kennedy specializes in healthcare professional liability claims, nursing home negligence, general negligence, and motion and appellate practice. In addition to her years of experience in private practice, Ms. Kennedy gained insight into the management of professional liability claims working as a claims representative for a national professional liability insurance carrier. She also has served as in-house staff for a major metropolitan healthcare system.

Ms. Kennedy has lectured on many healthcare issues, including the legal protection of medical records, “Do-Not-Resuscitate” Orders, Durable Powers of Attorney for Healthcare, and ethical issues in the provision of healthcare.

Ms. Kennedy’s community service has included appointments to the City of Monroe Rental Housing Ordinance Committee, IHM Healthcare Center Ethics Committee, God Works! Family Soup Kitchen, Soroptimist International, Leadership Monroe Program, and in her church’s music ministry.
