Case Management Philosophy
Corbet,
Shaw, Essad &
Bonasso places great importance
on clear
and
thorough
client
communication. Clients are kept
informed at every stage of
a case
and
are
active
participants in any
action the firm takes on their behalf.
One attorney has primary responsibility for each case,
unless another arrangement
has
been made
with the client.
Other attorneys will be used if scheduling conflicts
occur,
and
the client will be advised
in advance if such conflicts
arise.
Research is a necessary part of each case. We will always
obtain client approval
before
undertaking
large research
projects. If we are able to use research from
other cases
(whether for the same or a
different client), we will not
charge for the
time incurred for
the prior research.
We will provide a fair, accurate, timely and easily
understood statement for services
provided and for
the costs
incurred on behalf of a client.
Billing
Clients who choose traditional time billing are billed only
for the actual amount of
time spent on each project,
calculated
in tenths
of an hour.
There is no "unit billing" for services.
It is the firm's experience that some litigation cases share
common elements. To the
extent that the
firm can utilize
work product from one case for another, the client will
benefit from work already done
and a lower overall cost.
Our statements include a detailed description of the work
performed on each project,
the
date the
work was performed,
the daily time spent on each project, and who
performed
the
work.
The firm also offers various fee billing
arrangements, as alternatives to traditional time billings,
which are developed in concert with the needs of our
clients.
Litigation Costs
Expenses incurred on behalf of clients will be charged at
their actual cost. Unless
arranged
otherwise,
the statements
received will be forwarded to the client for
direct payment.
Corbet, Shaw,
Essad & Bonasso makes every effort to keep costs and
fees as low
as possible. To the extent that any cost or fee
can be minimized, the
savings are
passed on to clients.
